Any songs that you feel should have been left behind for whatever reason?

For me, Good Lovin' and Lovelight. Pig put his signature all over these and Bob trying to sound soulful during them seemed too forced, like he was doing it cause he thought he had to (or thought he could), whereas Pig did it cause he loved it.

agree with good lovin' never dug the bob version's
but disagree about lovelight -such a great uplifting tune
and i didn't mind the weir version at all-especially when jerry would chime in "little bit higher "

Wait--we agree about something? Oh-oh. Next thing you'll be telling me they busted Michael Vick for dogfighting.

I think they should have ditched Crazy Fingers. In fact, except for one or two 'decent' versions, I've never heard a good version of this song. Sometimes the jam after the song is great, but almost every version I've ever heard is so much mumbling of the lyrics and choppy attempts at a solo. Sorry, Jer, never could get into this one.

why is that.oh i know!there wouldnt be much of a show if they dropped covers.my opinion is maybe they shoulda wrote more songs to be fresh and original.i certainly remember how easy it was, when i was in a band,to play someone elses song, stop on a dime and play someone elses song.beats wasting time in the studio.esp since no one was gonna buy it unless it was on a greatest hits or live record.fact

also, the Dead and the studio, not the best combo. They fared better trying it out live first anyhow.

I say that because, honestly, the Dead, and many other bands play Dylan songs better than he does.

Dylan songs are wonderful, with amazing lyrics. Pretty sure the Dead version of Visions of Johanna is better than Dylan did.

It's hard to say, no covers. That is my point. I didn't really lose respect for you.

Watchtower - should have been dumpted in late-1991 when Jerry's guitar playing began to decline.
